Deadline Despatch Ltd is an environmentally conscious organisation which acknowledges the impact that our operations have on the environment.

We recognize that climate change is a serious global problem and are committed to minimising our contribution to it.

As an organisation Deadline Despatch’s major impacts have been identified as resulting from office-based energy consumption, paper consumption, waste production and vehicle emissions.

To continue our commitment we aim to achieve the highest status in our Carbon Smart carbon reduction programme and to reduce our relative carbon footprint by 10% within 5 years from our current measured footprint of 1,220 tonnes of CO2 in 2018.

Our previous target of 15% over the last 6 years was surpassed with a 29.4% reduction. Our measured footprint went from 1,727 to 1,220 tonnes of CO2 in the period 2013 to 2018. This was as a result of an introduction of solar panels, LED lights, recycling of waste, staff awareness, converted to 100% renewable energy supply and lower emission vehicles.

To achieve our future environmental objectives we will:

  1. Continue to raise awareness internally to encourage more recycling and for staff to be proactive in energy reduction. Using natural light where possible and ensuring all non-essential lights are turned off after use.
  2. Review current and future suppliers with the aim of finding and using companies that are Carbon Neutral.
  3. Communicate with our sales team in order that our Carbon Neutral status is relayed to current and future customers.
  4. Continue to procure 100% recycled paper and source lower emission vehicles as fleet replacement comes due.
  5. Maintain Carbon Neutral company certification by sourcing and utilising a portfolio of high-quality carob credits that offset our measure footprint to net zero for the period of 2019 to 2023.

The action plan will be communicated to our staff, customer and suppliers through the use of our website and posting our carbon reduction board in our main office. The action board will show our commitments, initial action plan and the subsequent results.

This environmental policy will be published and shown in reception areas, in general communications and on our website. A full annual review will take place alongside regular action plan reviews.

Senior management will be responsible for the action plan implementation and subsequent reduction of our carbon footprint.
